French free-to-air DTT channels
Leading channels TMC (AB Groupe/TF1) and W9 (M6) would have garnered €75m of ad revenues last year while they spent €50m. AB Groupe’s second channel NT1 would have broken even in 2009 thanks to €35m of ad revenues, shortly followed by NRJ 12 and Gulli.
French free-to-air DTT channels are about to break even for the most part, or are already profitable, reports daily Le Figaro.
Forecasting €40m in ad revenues, Direct 8’s General Director Yannick Bolloré expects his channel will break even this year, two years before the channel’s business plan forecast.
